SIMRES SeaTalk with Ann Nightingale, birding expert, Rocky Point Observatory, Victoria Bird Count Organizer

Ann will be discussing the way bird counting, recording and data collection is changing with the application of new technology. In recent years, our knowledge about bird populations and migrations has increased dramatically due to these new methods.

Ann has been birding for 23 years and is dedicated to the understanding, conservation and promotion of birds. She is past president of the Rocky Point Bird Observatory and is the organizer of the Victoria Christmas bird count. She's a board member of the American Birding Association and a licensed bander. Ann is a writer and is regularly in the press on all topics of birding.

Ann will also lead a bird walk on Sunday morning Dec. 1, weather permitting. Start time to be announced at the SeaTalk.
