When the clinic is closed dial 811 to contact  HealthLink BC  and speak to a health professional.

Or call the 24-Hour BC Nurse Line 1 - 866-215-4700.   Someone is always available to assist you in making a decision regarding who to call and when to call. These are both very valuable resources.

As the visiting physician and nurse practitioner are each on Saturna only one day per week try to anticipate your medication needs and book an appointment.  They can fax a medication order to a pharmacy in town or a limited supply of medication may be available from the clinic but only under the Doctor's or Nurse Practitioner's supervision. If you require emergency medications at any other time you will have to leave the Island to obtain them.   It is also  wise to remind your visitors to bring enough required medications  to last for the duration of their visit.

You can bring  your outdated or no longer needed medications to the Medical Clinic on Wednesdays or Thursdays for proper disposal or take them to any pharmacy in town.  Flushing medications down the toilet or throwing them in the garbage contaminates  the water and soil.
